Fixed the bug in URL Extractor which was causing a quit after startup under System 7.

Let's start today with a new program, URL Extractor, a tool for webmaster and in general for people who need to manage URL on their Mac.
It allows to extract URL from inside text files, as example web page, and save the url on disk, in a usable format, to import in database or manipulate to create new pages.
It's a true Mac program, all written in C++ and optimized for the Mac memory handling.
Interface it's simple and fast, and yes it's a true Mac program, not a port.
User can use it in two modes:
The first one lets him open and see a single file and navigate inside it and collect the urls as he decides step by step (or in one shot if he likes) .
The second lets the user use a Batch window and process files automatically all in one step.
He can even drop a folder, and all the files inside that folder, even file inside other folder and nested at any levels, will be processed to extract urls.
URL Extractor can be automatized at different level, you can even set it to run on unattended Mac, do its work, save (or append) automatically the result on disk, and quit.
No coding necessary, just some buttons to click in the preferences dialog!

From a modified version of Sutdown Controller is born Restart Controller
It's a server utility which can be used to restart unattended server when a specified time is reached and some (user specified) condition are satisfied.
It can be considered in some way a powerfull alternative to Mac Restart

Bug fix version 1.0.6 of CronOTask
This new version handles the save command in a better way.
Now CronOTask always asks to save a document attempting to close it if modified.
Added also a warning displayed if it is launched on System 7 without the Appearance Extension installed.
Yes. Cronotask runs correctly also under System 7. You just need to install the appearance extension and control panel by Apple.
We asked Apple permission to distribute them on our site, in the meantime you must download them from Apple (Appearance SDK) .

CronOTask (despite it's a brand new program) is attracting a lot of people to our site.
Unfortunately the server which is hosting the Tension Software site doesn't seem to support this traffic very well. There is not only the Tension Software site, but many others, and traffic here is really intense.
The actual server is the Kagi server, and really Kagi is having a lot of success (the success of Kagi coincides with the boom of Macintosh shareware).
At that point , still using the service of Kagi for handling our payments , we are going to move the Tension Software site on a provider who we think is one of the most available on the net for its bandwidth and reliability of its servers.
In case you had problems trying to download our software, try to connect here after February 08 (we plan to use Sunday to setup the new site) to have our new web address and try our new (we hope) fast connection to the net.

We apologize with people who are trying to run CronOTask under system 7.x.
Cronotask uses the new 'System 8' controls, which under System 7 are emulated using 'GA Controls' provided by Metrowerks.
Unfortunately all the 'GA Controls' which let to have system 8 controls under System 7 work but the 'Clock Controls' used by CronoTask.
That causes CronoTask to crash under System 7 when you press the 'Edit' button to edit a single task because the program can't create the Clock Controls.
(Under System 8 the System itself provides Clock Controls).
We realized CronoTask using the last available tecnology but unfortunately there is still work to let this tecnology work under system 7, too.
Metrowerks (the company that realizes the C++ compiler for Mac) promised the clock implementation will be realized "at some point in the future".
We will recompile and post the "System 7 compliant" version as soon as Metrowerks will release the GA (for System 7) implementation.
We report here a portion of a Metrowerks note.
* There is no GA Clock implementation. We will provide this feature at some point in the future. * AM Clock does not properly move focus among its individual fields when using the tab key.
We (Tension Software) expect a solution (by Metrowerks) for March / April 98.
The problem should also be fixed using the planned Apple extension which let use System 8 Controls under system 7 (when will be available).
For now use CronoTask ONLY under System 8...

Another minor bug fix version of CronOTask is now available.
This is version 1.0.4
At the moment this one seems bug free, reliable, and works well, too!

There was a problem (bug is not the right word this time ) in the version 1.0.0 of CronOTask which didn't allow to use clock controls with U.S.A. format time (09:10:30 PM) but only as (21:10:30).
The night after we were informed of the trouble we modified all the clock controls and also changed the way time is displayed in the table list using international format also for time (it was already used for date) which displays correctly the time accordling with your time format (the one selected in the Date & Time control panel).
Version available is already the new one 1.0.2 and it works fine with U.S.A. time format

CronOTask 1.0 announcement!
A new server utility by Tension Software is here.
CronoTask is a utility which allows to select files from disk and specify when they are automaticaly launched by Cronotask.
To realize it we used the very last version of Metrowerks Codewarrior and the very last version of PowerPlant framework, whith true OS Mac 8 controls.
Under Sys 7 , new OS 8 controls are emulated, but you can't really see the difference !
The result is a very modern application which has a very nice look and does its job.
The interface of CronoTask is really a pleasure to use, no coding, no rules to learn, just select the type of plan you like and point and click to specify all the rest.
You know using AppleScript you can practically include a lot of work inside scripts, now you can run them when your Mac is unattended launching them via CronoTask using the schedule plan you prefer.
We will also add in the future on our page a special 'AppleScript' section to discuss how to use CronoTask with applets.
If you run a Mac Server or like to automatize tasks when your Mac is unattended you must visit the CronOTask Page !
We have both a PPC version and a 68k version!

It was a bit hard, but we managed to finish Flowchart Maker 1.1 before Christmas.
This new version 1.1 has some of the improvements users of version 1.0 requested.
I'm happy of the result.
Now it's more productive working with Flowchart Maker.
Text inside boxes can be justified and menus show with a checkmark the selected box characteristics fully.
There are new possibilities of manipulating the appearance of arrows.
Working is much faster using cut - copy and paste of objects!
Simply selecting a box you can now press command-C and the box (the true box, not a picture !) is copied in the clipboard, then you can click where you prefer, even in another (Flowchart Maker) document, and pressing commad-V you can paste the box.
Printing control is another area where we made improvements.
You can now see in the drawing area the boundaries of the pages, according to the page setup you choose and the printing margins you inserted.
Several bugs where also fixed, a problem with icons in the finder and bugs regarding scale rapresentation and refresh of the main window.
And more ...
I hope you will like this new version, there is really a lot of work in it.
If there aren't still the features you requested just wait for the 1.2 !
